Historical note: Not to be confused with the original Ottawa Senators who were originally founded in 1883 and played in the NHL from 1917 until the team was split between professional and amateur in 1934. The professional team became the St. Louis Eagles for the 1934-35 season before ceasing operations. The amateur team would remain in Ottawa until their end in 1954. According to their history, they original team had won 11 Stanley Cup championships from 1903-1927.
